Paper Abstract:      This paper analyses the effectiveness of electronic communication in selected professional bodies as well as in a group of individuals. In the past few decades communication has been revolutionised mainly by the introduction of electronic communication means, in particular email. Today communication by email is probably the most used form of communication in companies. However, besides all its benefits, there are also concerns that email communication may not always be used optimally. For example, too many emails may reduce efficiency, e.g. due to frequent usage of the “cc” option. Our research addresses these topics and presents the results of a survey conducted within companies, the public sector and individuals.
