Paper Abstract:      With the advance and increasing use of new information and communication technologies, especially the Internet and mobile devices, the newsrooms of television news are going through profound transformations, engendered in post-industrial process automation, which include disarticulation of meanings and reengineering. The changes continue and gain a greater dimension with the emergence of Interactive Digital TV (IDTV), which brings about a greater participation of the viewer. Analyzing characters and routines on the news, this paper outlines the possibilities of re-arrangement of roles and functions for the practice of television journalism in IDTV.
