A global digital economy has emerged, and a transition to this knowledge-based economy has occurred in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In response to the new socioeconomic changes Saudi Arabia continues to develop ICT and to take realistic steps for closing the Information gap. This work reviews the digital divide in Saudi nation stands, and explains the steps which have been achieved by Saudi government. The work presented here forms the preliminary stage of a more comprehensive review of the digital divide and e-readiness tools in Saudi Arabia. It takes a pragmatic view of the selection process, such as might be used within a developing country. |
