Paper Abstract:
|
How to attract international students to campus has become a hot issue in Taiwan. Since the government provided a menu driven program for universities, various universities have been found to enhance their learning programs to attract more international students. However, the number of international students still very limited. This study applied the fuzzy statistics to determine what kind of barriers that might affect the highly talented international students to campus. A self-designed fuzzy questionnaire was used to collect data from 41 international students. This study addresses how fuzzy statistics can be applied to tackle the questions for inbound study. Fuzzy mean and fuzzy correlation were used to interpret what international students intent to do and what they have done. The results reveal that male and female international students show different strategies for their studying abroad. However, the college differences show varied influencing factors which might attract the talented students abroad. The study suggests maintain cheaper tuition, enhance culture related programs, and provide scholarship that will eliminate the barriers to attract more talented students abroad. |
