Paper Abstract:
|
This short paper investigates preconditions of digital agency of young people in Finland. Finland represents a society
developed on digi-technological imperatives, and with young people who are considered as "digi-natives" with
competences and opportunities to benefit digitalization in their everyday lives and life-courses. However, statistics still
show "digital divide" and unequal sociomaterial stratification among them. To understand digital citizenship in the broadest
possible sense and to empower youth as digital citizens, we need to make the inequalities visible, both at the societal,
structural and life-course level. |
