Paper Abstract:
|
Data modeling is a key to understand how computer handles business logic, a prerequisite of the rest of database technologies. It is a difficult task for novice designer. These difficulties come mainly from the inherent complexity of modeling tasks. To engage students, this paper proposes a framework of organizing database technologies into a game design scenario. The game is based on the Romance of Three Kingdoms, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature and a household story in Sinosphere. Modeling this fiction makes technologies more accessible to students, so as to establish a model to explore the rest of the course. |
