Paper Abstract:
|
Preserving tacit knowledge for competitive advantage may be more important for information systems projects than
exercises that attempt to quantify project costs and benefits. This paper uses the context of a new technology for higher
education institutions to study how information systems projects are evaluated in organizations of differing performance.
The research finds that while risk analysis tools have a value in structuring problems, experienced project champions
driving projects to fruition may be more important than evaluating projects with formulaic quantitative models. |
