Paper Abstract:      RSS (Rich Site Summary, Real Simple Syndication) provides universities with interesting opportunities to distribute and aggregate information, thus enhancing the content of the institutional website and at the same time reaching out to a broader audience. We present a case study on how RSS is used within the information portal e-teaching.org to make content available for different academic user groups. Herewith, we will focus on different preconditions for distributors and subscribers of microcontent. Our experience allows us to phrase some general guidelines and ideas for extending the use of content syndication via RSS in higher education.
