Paper Abstract:
|
The design, construction and deployment of a large virtual campus are a complex issue. To achieve maintainability an adaptable architecture, such as multitier architecture should be employed. However, multitier architecture comprises several design patterns whose use should be carefully analysed before they are implemented. This paper describes the architecture of the virtual campus deployed at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, as well as the main multitier design patterns used. The goal of the paper is to make our experience available to a wider audience so that organisations interested in the deployment of a large virtual campus can take advantage of our work. |
