Paper Abstract:
|
Cyber-harassment is an increasing problem due to the rapid growth in social media and the anonymity that the internet affords. Current remedies may not be sufficient to protect individuals in all circumstances in which the law should be able to intervene. Powers to require hosts and ISPs to take positive steps to prevent cyber-harassment are required. International co-operation by way of a code of practice is the most straightforward and cost-effective method of obtaining such powers. |
