Paper Abstract:

The process of determining the characteristics of an electric motor suitable for a specified application consists in an
essential task for the efficient use of electrical energy when transforming it to mechanical work.
Due to its complexity, students and specialized professional needs a facilitated methodology for dimensioning the
three-phase AC induction motors.
Motivated with the sense of efficient exploitation for the electricity and looking for a resolution for these problems,
SisDiMo was created. The SisDiMo is a web-based application for dimensioning motors using a new methodology of
calculations. With several equations and a vast database (more than 1.400 motors stored) the interaction between user and
system permits the choice of the best motor. In addition, the efficient use of energy enables commercial and industrial
facilities to minimize production costs, increase profits and consequently stay more competitive. |
