Paper Abstract:
|
URL-addressable artifacts are becoming the preponderant source of information for laymen. More and more functionality is being exposed onto the Internet everyday in the form of URL addressable web services. The bookmark mechanism currently available in commercial browsers falls short in both the organisation and integration demands that the increasing diversity of URL resources kept by users requires. Although some research prototypes are available to mitigate this situation, the emphasis is on the logical organisation of web pages rather than managing and integrating content from diverse sources. This paper introduces the preliminary work on the WebSheet project. This project aims to providing a cohesive framework for rendering, organising, and integrating URL-addressable content. WebSheet takes a
service-oriented view for content providers and applies a spreadsheet paradigm for content organisation and integration. The project is based on two main technologies: web services and spreadsheet languages. |
