Paper Abstract:

In this paper a study has been carried out on the most suitable instrumentation for acquiring the data of continuous casting
mould temperatures, which are vital for several purposes, from adjusting the current model of the system to the detection
of perforations or surface defects on the slab, and last but not least the reason why this work has been started, which is the
improvement of the known models [4], [5] of the formation of the solidified shell in the continuous casting mould. The
objective is the retrieval of actual data on temperatures at specific locations of the mould. These data can be used for the
adjustment of models of mould operative behaviors. |
