Paper Abstract:
|
in service matching is receiving a lot of attention. However, there are other important scenarios where semantics alone cannot provide adequate matching. Application level interaction protocols, which are an artifact of the chosen business interaction model, are just as important. If two businesses cannot communicate the right messages at the right time, then no matching mechanism is helpful. This paper introduces an approach for describing service design in terms of its behavior, from which external service descriptions can be derived. These descriptions express the communication protocol of the service, and also provide some resource utilisation details that can be used to ascertain some quality of service details. A matching technique based in these descriptions is detailed, which enables service discovery based on this description. The central idea is to allow discovery of services that are protocol compatible as well as provide the service that is required. |
