Paper Abstract:
|
The main premise underlying this research effort argues that acquiring knowledge in situ on community ethos (versus the pathos) is pivotal for enabling an engagement process between ICT designers and community members, and, for ultimately building more socially inclusive community ICTs. It is based on findings from dissertation research presented by Lastra (2006) where a new participatory design method emerged based on community events as units of analysis, and framed by the traditions of community informatics (CI) and participatory design (PD). |
