Paper Abstract:
|
Interest in continual query processing systems is growing as the amount of information available over the Internet continues to increase. Users simply do not have the time to manually and repeatedly query multiple, heterogeneous web-accessible databases to search for or track all the information that may be of interest. Three years ago we developed a platform- and implementation-independent continual query processing system called CQServer. However, since that time we realized that it needed some software re-engineering efforts to improve the overall system design and to further enhance its functionalities. Herein we will discuss those software changes changes that could benefit not only other continual query processing systems, but also other J2EE applications that require a distributed object infrastructure. |
