Paper Abstract:      This paper presents some preliminary findings of the analysis and study of e-Learning in Jordan. It starts with some considerations concerning the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in boosting knowledge diffusion processes and in sustaining learning practices, with the objective to bridge the Knowledge Divide and to leapfrog a country into the Knowledge Economy. Moreover, the main problems and challenges of the education sector in Jordan are presented, by highlighting the existing e-Learning strategy, infrastructure and organizations that can facilitate the diffusion of e-Learning in the country. Even though Jordan’s experience in the e-Learning field is still fresh, it has been considered successful, and might be adapted by the World Economic Forum as a global template, for further deployment into other countries (World Economic Forum, 2005). Furthermore, some e-Learning projects and initiatives launched in the last few years in Jordan are presented.
