Paper Abstract:      Among software systems there are systems that are centralized and contain a framework-based structure. According to the actual tendencies of globalization and Internet it is highly desirable that those systems be available to a large number of users throughout the WWW, and one way of doing that is to convert them into web services. However, frameworks are not yet developed as web services, due among other things to the interface inheritance between a derived and a base class, which produces interface dependency. By definition, a web service must provide well-defined interfaces, so if a framework with interface dependency is converted into a web service; it would not have well-defined interfaces, leading a client to make requests to empty interfaces. In this paper, we describe a refactoring method known as “interface separation” for restructuring a framework. The result is a framework with a new architecture that will facilitate its conversion into web services.
