Paper Abstract:
|
This paper presents the AMPLIA system, an intelligent learning environment applied as extra resource in the physicians
formation. AMPLIAs development raised several research topics, due to the convergence of Artificial Intelligence and
Learning environments. The core topics are: probabilistic diagnostic learning in the medical area, application of novel
teaching strategies based on Pedagogic Negotiation (PN), and construction of cognitive student models with probabilistic
beliefs. An important aspect of AMPLIA is the utilization of PN as the main form of interaction. The impact of this
approach on the systems dynamics and on the students learning is presented in detail. The description is based on
experiments we conducted with the utilization of AMPLIA and the main results of these experiments. |
