Paper Abstract:
|
A home network is an important infrastructure in the home to sustain a society with ubiquitous computing. The home network is expected to be provided with services such as remote medical treatment, remote education, and so on in the near future. However, a home gateway in the network has a large quantity of access intensively by using the services. Due to the intensive access, real-time information cannot be sent or received in the home gateway smoothly. Thus, Quality of Service (for short, QoS) control is needed to achieve a high seed and high quality communications between the Internet and the home. In this paper, we present the proper conventional scheduling algorithms for QoS control in the home gateway. The conventional scheduling algorithms are evaluated by jitter and packet loss analysis. Simulation results show that the algorithms are enough to implement the home gateway. |
