Paper Abstract:
|
Governments have sought to apply information technology in this manner and utilize the Internet as a
way of improving interactions with their citizens through the delivery of their services electronically. The
Australian Government has not opted for a completely centralized approach citing the nature of its
management and structure as a barrier in achieving this. This has a lead to individual departments devising
their own electronic service implementation, overseen by a centralizing body. The possible consequences of
decentralized strategy in this context are mismatches between the ways services are delivered to the customer
due to inconsistencies born from having each department interpret the strategy individually. |
