Paper Abstract:
|
The Division of Education and Physical Education, with the involvement of the professional community, has developed and is in the process of fully implementing our Unit Assessment Plan. The purpose of this plan is to develop, collect, and utilize evaluative information regarding candidate performance in all areas of study within the division. This plan provides an overall system which is inclusive of nine areas of performance assessment and data collection. Through this manageable structure, information on internal and external candidate and program standards provide summarizing and sampling evidence to determine admission, continuation in, and program completion for review as described in candidate benchmark stages. The structure integrates these data, based on unit decision-making processes, to drive unit changes and program improvement. The assessment system is designed to take steps in eliminating bias through its comprehensive and integrated set of measures and evaluations. Through this comprehensive design, the system provides established fairness, accuracy, and consistency in all areas of assessment. |
