Paper Abstract:
|
Digital medical informatics and images are commonly used in hospitals today,. Because of the interrelatedness of the
radiology department and other departments, especially the intensive care unit and emergency department, the
transmission and sharing of medical images has become a critical issue. Our research group has developed a Java-based
distributed medical informatics framework to facilitate the rapid development and deployment of medical imaging
applications in a distributed environment that can be shared and used by related departments and mobile physicians.
This paper describes how Java technologies and distributed object can be utilized and optimized in streaming medical
data, this technology such as Java Media Framework (JMF) , JDBC and other libraries like medical imaging application
developers interface(API),NeatMed with Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA). We also integrate java
with CORBA as middleware that sit in middle-tier and IBM DB2 as relational database at the server side. The ability the
java based application to distribute information to geographically distant users on a wide variety of computers. Make it an
obvious candidate for a technological solution for distributed medical informatics systems. |
