Paper Abstract:
|
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the optimal perimeter of the neighbourhood in look-ahead based fuzzy decision tree (FDT) induction. Look-ahead based FDT induction does not provide any guidance on how to identify such a parameter. A specific neighbourhood value in look-ahead based FDT induction method could be employed only for a specific data set, and the neighbourhood value could change when different data sets are involved. In this paper, we investigate the significance of different neighbourhood values and define a new parameter insensitive to specific data sets using fuzzy sets. Our experiment demonstrates that the optimal perimeter of the neighbourhood varies when data set is changed but the proposed parameter does not change. |
