Paper Abstract:      Currently Internet is largely populated with public Web services repositories. However, these Web services still suffer problems such as the lack of functional semantics that difficult the automatic discovery and invocation of them, even when a copy of the WSDL file is got. This paper describes an ontological approach for discovering similarity relations between public Web services. By extracting relevant data being coded into service descriptions, hence calculate similarity measures between them, represent discovered similarities in an ontological form, and execute inference. Experimental results show that the overall process towards the automation of public Web services discovery based on ontology population and structural similarity measures is feasible of a quick automation.
