Paper Abstract:
|
Research Infrastructure in Minority Institutions" (RIMI) is a five-year 4.7 million program supported by the National Institutes of Health in the United States. An online collaborative community was created to support faculty, students, and community members of the grant program. The paper describes the RIMI online community: goals of the web-based community, technology and strategies used for facilitating the community, and challenges professionals have been encountering. The presentation answers the following questions: What software tools are used and how to use them in the project? How to promote the community so that new members can find it? How to protect the members' privacy? |
