Paper Abstract:
|
The success of the Emergency Management (EM) depends on an effective and efficient coordination among different organizations as well as information sharing and information flow. The management of an emergency is a complex task where decision support at emergency site as well as at emergency coordination center requires good understanding of the underlying emergency processes by the Emergency Responders (ER). The emergency routines, tasks and procedures that are used to manage emergencies are usually documented and provided to ER in textual form. But if the emergency responders are given documents in both visual and textual form, then it helps emergency authorities to understand the procedures easier and be well-prepared for the unexpected events. So, in this paper, the Norwegian Emergency Management Process has been modeled by using Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN). The results of this research will help the responders to comprehend the EM process thoroughly. The modeled process descriptions were explained by and evaluated by EM experts. |
