Paper Abstract:
|
Rough set theory provides a way of dealing with imprecision in data. In the rough set prediction process, given values for
condition attributes, the decision attribute can be predicted by following decision rules abstracted from inconsistent and
incomplete data. Published research undertaken by the author and co-authors into industrial applications of rough set
methods are summarized. The application areas are prediction of faults in a broadband network, solid waste management,
and the rotating cement kiln process. |
