Paper Abstract:      Though thanks to technological development web communication capability has made remarkable progress in terms of large data quantity and of speed data transmission, such areas as browsing optimality on database images and in particular raster images still need to be investigated. Some critical technical problems worthy of investigation are: 1. The choice of image resolution when passing to the scanner, which must be dedicated to this purpose and compatible with memory capacity; 2. The limits to display, because the video has a lower resolution than a scanner, what is seen on video is generally a degraded or enlarged image; 3. The cost of the equipment for returning film or prints with high resolution; 4. The constraints of current transmission networks for sending large-sized files, if one needs to distribute images via electronic networks; 5. The obsolescence of data processing support and the stability over time of the information stored with respect to the photographic information. This paper proposes a simple technical methodology that aims to find an alternative way for managing the archives of oversized and high resolutions images on electronic networks.
