Paper Abstract:
|
Understanding what factors influence learner empowerment and how they do so is a prerequisite for empowering learners
and improving their learning achievement and self-belief. This pioneering study focused on the influence of learning
motivation and online self-regulation on learner empowerment. The study investigated 264 junior middle school students
from rural areas to explore the impact of a growth mindset, self-efficacy, task value, online self-regulation, and
community of inquiry on learner empowerment. The results show that a growth mindset, self-efficacy, and task value,
respectively, directly or indirectly affect learner empowerment and that their influence differs. Online self-regulation,
which has a significant impact on multiple factors, both directly impacts learner empowerment and indirectly affects it
through teaching presence and social presence. |
