Paper Abstract:
|
The word Mobiquitous is the result of the combination of the words mobile and ubiquitous. The term mobile refers to the
great capability of the mobile phone, to be used anytime and anywhere. Ubiquitous refers to the human condition of the
individual once using the device. The anytime and anywhere features of mobile devices, render the application and use of
the mobile phone, peculiar and extremely adaptable to any situation. The physical vs. the digital, the sedentary vs. the
nomadic, allow mobile learning to help learners to improve their literacy and numeric skills removing some of the
formality from the learning experience and engaging reluctant learners to remain more focused for longer periods, to raise
self-esteem and self-confidence, helping them to identify areas where they need assistance and support (Attewell 2004).
The students are inventing ways to use their phones to learn what they want to know. Educators will figure out how to
deliver our product in a way that fits into our students' digital livesand their cell phones (Prensky 2005). |
