Paper Abstract:
|
This paper outlines the next major evolution of the Internet architecture, where support for mobility is notthe exception but the typical case. We show which parts of the Internet architecture needs to be extended, how they interact, and why they are needed. We point out the suitability of especially license free radio access equipment not only technically, but as a well harmonizing piece in the
non-centralized and distributed way that Internet grows. We show that a wired Internet supporting mobility drastically changes the market situation in the mobile and wireless sector, possibly to a level where special mobile operators are not needed. We show that this leads to a situation where wireless and mobile access is just as inexpensive as its wired counterpart. The plans outlined here are pursued Center for
Distance-spanning technology within the project calledThe RadioSphere . |
