Paper Abstract:
|
Location-Based Services (LBS) have entered the discussion in the early 1990ies, but they have not yet achieved a real
breakthrough. Here, "Mobile Location Based Gaming" (MLBG) could bring about the change. Location-based services
may well achieve wider recognition because of the human play instinct. This work introduces MLBG and the adventure
game "Mobile Hunters" an implemented MLBG that uses the currently available cellular phone network to create a
virtual playing field that represents the real world. This innovative way of playing seems strange at first, but it proves to
be a helpful step towards context-based value-added services. |
