Paper Abstract:
|
Mobile learning presents unique challenges and opportunities in certain learning environments. Acute trauma care is characterized by dynamic and complex situations for which adequate preparation is essential for success. The development of a mobile trauma curriculum includes defining the core content, development of the mobile learning modules, and evaluation and validation of the created modules. The current project highlights the difficulties and challenges in performing these tasks. This includes the agreement on a finite set of knowledge and skills, the interplay between module creation and production, and the type of assessments needed for each particular type of module. Many steps in the process have never been applied in the trauma setting, so hopefully these descriptions will aid future developers in similar areas. |
