Paper Abstract:
|
This study aims to explore and model mobile users perception of security threats and their consequent behavior to take actions in an attempt to minimize vulnerability. While there have been a number of attempts in the literature to illustrate users reaction to positive and negative aspects of mobile technology, a paradigm to define a clear path from perception to action taking into consideration both the external and internal motivating factors has not been introduced. Reflecting on various models in other areas of research such as healthcare and psychology, we have been building a model to show the impact of both external and internal stimuli on taking action against exponentially increasing mobile security threats. Our research will benefit both academicians and IT industry interested in users response to both positive and negative impacts of technology in their daily lives. |
