Paper Abstract:      Modern approaches to software project and operations management have shifted from traditional waterfall models. Nowadays, firms require a novel understanding of the agile philosophy and Dev-Ops. As the number of software suites and services available to facilitate agile related practices increasingly grows, organizations need to manage the large amount of data generated by these tools. In effect, during project lifecycles, extensive usage of such technologies can yield an unmanageable amount of scattered information views for stakeholders. Further problems arise when this information results in seemingly conflicting sources of truth. In such cases, inaccurate information can negatively inform project management and engineering activities. The current paper aims to address this issue by conducting a case study at a South African start-up where a web-based portal is designed for the consolidation of information specifically pertaining to agile and Dev-Ops activities. Underpinned by an activity theory centered framework, the research discusses how the developed tool was designed. The paper concludes by describing how the proposed information system was perceived to positively impact agile teams during our case study.
