Paper Abstract:
|
This paper is based on a college course, which emphasizes the construction of knowledge by analyzing and evaluating ones own literacy and learning processes through various means, including the use of multimedia assignments. The study is based on a college elementary education course with a purpose to provide students with a broad understanding of professional issues related to literacy, technology, and the effect on future instruction procedures in the classroom. Subjects are from nontraditional backgrounds and rural Appalachia. Findings relate a correlation between multimedia course assignments regarding ones own literacy experience, and the need for this reflection to transfer into classroom instruction. Through dialogue and active engagement by the learner, course objectives were met in this nontraditional setting. |
