Paper Abstract:      Shared memory (SM) is good solution when the application requires low response time such as storage system. But SM has problem in processing efficiency because it is difficult to reduce SM access latency across the interconnection network. In this paper, we propose a low latency SM cache coherency scheme for storage system. In our scheme, the vector timestamp is used to guarantee FIFO consistency, and the direct memory access (RDMA) is used to enable each processor can access SM directly without wait for any acknowledgement from other processors. We evaluated the processing time reduction and I/O throughput in the storage system using analytical model. Our scheme improves the average processing time of SM access procedure 45%, and improves I/O throughput 36.5% than SM direct access.
