Paper Abstract:      The purpose of this study is to discuss the potential of learning style modeling for improving the eLearning experience. Various learning style models emerged over the two decades which has brought increasing attention towards the fact that students learn in diverse ways and one way of teaching or delivering the same content to all students won’t work fine. Taking this into consideration, the study identified two ways of improving the efficacy of online education. One method for achieving this is the use of learning styles for personalized course content delivery and the other way focused on identifying the prior knowledge level through assessment for personalized course path. The proposed model for automatic construction of prior knowledge level model aims to connect questions in the assessment to specific course modules in order to identify levels on different modules, because a learner may have varying levels of knowledge within different modules. This paper presents the results of our approach evaluation from the point of learning styles and prior knowledge level.
