Paper Abstract:
|
This paper reports a research endeavour that explores the situated practice of web information architecture (IA) in large organisations. The research, using grounded theory and multiple case studies, produces conceptual outcomes. A major emergent theme is the importance of knowing web IA. Included in the interpretations of knowing are knowledge about, situated learning and knowledge in activity. Web IA requires a fluid mix of all interpretations of knowledge to be successfully enacted in large organisations as they continue to learn how best to structure information on their websites. |
