Paper Abstract:
|
Different reference models, procedures, perspectives and cultures of IT experts who are responsible for the development and operation of software applications make the transfer of development projects into IT operations a demanding and complicated task. Therefore, a systematic approach is needed to combine and integrate different models and procedures from development and operation of IT applications to assure a solid and exact implementation of applications. ITIL (In-formation Technology Infrastructure Library) is a reference model and is seen as de facto standard for IT organization. The common practices given by ITIL must be complemented by special instruments to coordinate the involved IT experts from development projects and operational units. We suggest to use quality gates, known as coordination mechanism from innovation management. This article describes the background, common problems and solutions. |
