Paper Abstract:      New Internet protocol has been defined for almost 10 years. All these years it has been facing many problems and is difficult to be implemented into practice. It is inevitable that IPv6 protocol has besides great address space also many other advantages, such as mobile device support. In general, there is not much known about using IPv6. This article describes process of integrating a small lab network into the IPv6 network via free IPv6 Tunnel Broker (6in4) and via IPv4 compatible IPv6 address (6to4). We are describing the ways of testing IPv6 connectivity as well as some Internet services. We also approached universities in Slovakia to find out whether and into what extend they use this new protocol within their computer networks. The result of this study is shocking as only one university resulted in using protocol IPv6.
