Paper Abstract:      The relevance of merging spatial data with standard relational data is largely recognized, since by adding geometry into databases we enhance stored information and expand the possibilities of business intelligence, as well. This paper reports about the current state of the technological transfer of research results about “spatial SQL” into relational database management systems and sets a list of the next first-class features hopefully to be implemented to further enhance business intelligence
