Paper Abstract:      The suggested study refers to the modelling and the automation of the operations of decomposition and identification of edifices forms, methods used in the domain of forms analysis in architecture. This domain highlights with acuity methodological problems due to those operations. The purpose of this study is to create a decision support system, which will allow a choice for the classification of any element. The “puzzle” method offers to sequence the work into two steps. This method (at the beginning applied to healthcare researches) allows a specialist to input information into a knowledge-base and to open it in a second step to other people. All new descriptions use the “pieces” of previous described cases. Links recorded between the various elements help to select information and accelerate the description. The identification of several levels of information and the sequencing of steps of description, allow to work efficiently on the description of study’s scope. These several levels become independent from each other. It is possible to choose a specific structured level of information, in which the description will be updated, and a single modification does not question the rest of the scope knowledge.
