Paper Abstract:      We present in this paper an approach for incrementally validating updates on XML documents, for preserving constraints which must be respected in documents. XML document is seen as a tree which can be updated. Update operations considered are the delete and insert operations of sub trees. The constraints are defined in XML Schema. They meet the set of referential integrity constraints and structural constraints. In an incremental validation, only the updated parts are checked, rather than the whole XML tree (i.e. validation from scratch). Our approach consists of using a table for structural constraints specification and a labelling process for labelling ID and ID reference nodes in XML tree.
