Paper Abstract:
|
This paper examines the impact of nudging in HCI on the time registration in an agile organization. More specifically, two nudges have been implemented, the customized information nudge and the anchoring nudge. Time registration plays a crucial role in increasing the transparency on the resource planning in an agile organization. Admitting the proven potential of nudges, we intend to investigate whether the implementation of nudges could improve the time registration behavior of employees. We conducted a randomized field experiment amongst the employees of an agile organization, where the employees were assigned to any of the implemented nudges. This field experiment consisted of a mixed-design utilizing a within- and between-subjects design. The results show that the implementation of both the nudges do not lead
to an significant increase in the amount of registered time. Yet, we do find improvements for the organization of interest in this study. Therefore we encourage future research to repeat this study in an organization that has a larger sample size. These results contribute to existing literature on nudging in a work-related setting, with a specific focus on an agile-based organization. |
