Paper Abstract:
|
Most companies are currently confronted with a variety of severe challenges. In this context, innovations are essential to
ensure and increase the competitiveness. Oftentimes IT is the driving force for such innovations. Consequently, IT has to
focus more strongly on its ability to innovate and contribute to the companys future success. According to these
requirements the alignment of an IT organisation can be influenced by the IT project portfolio to a great extent. An
efficient design of the IT project portfolio management enables the increase of the innovation capability. Therefore, this
research paper points out how the management of this portfolio should ideally be designed. Furthermore it reveals the
relevant parts of the IT project portfolio management in which the innovation aspect should be considered. For this
purpose, an expert survey was conducted among IT department managers, IT project portfolio managers and IT project
controllers. |
