Paper Abstract:
|
Various frameworks exist to implement intelligent agents, but invariably each one is more suited to a specific kind of problem. Implementing autonomous agents can become more a problem of software engineering than artificial intelligence. Modern game-engines contain multiple concurrent systems, simulate a multitude of objects and render them to the screen at 30 frames per second. The aim of this paper is to investigate whether a scriptable game-engine or components thereof can be reused as a framework to implement an intelligent agent and use it as a visual prototyping tool and test bed. This paper will serve as a pragmatic start to future intelligent agent applications using game-engines. |
