Paper Abstract:
|
Perception, emotions and human reactions during the use of interactive applications are important factors for the evaluation of the user experience. The optimal evaluation of applications with augmented, mixed, virtual reality concept, or those with persuasive design usually consists of a standard user experience method mix. In addition to the classic usability test, survey or observation, psychophysical methods can also be used. This paper gives hints to help choosing the optimal measurement method mix for evaluation in giving a short description on 5 electro graphic methods. It compares the electro graphic methods electrooculography (EOG) and electroencephalography (EEG) and shows pros, cons, technical details and knowledge to perform the procedures. Both methods are combinable and can give a more detailed view in human reactions. The idea behind the study was to analyze and interpret typical user reactions. One insight learned during the development of the research design was the missing literature with specific EEG atlas for user experience context. Therefore, we show result cases out of the study and discuss the idea to simplify analysis and interpretation of data with a specified user EEG atlas and an image based artificial intelligence algorithm we will work on in future. |
