Paper Abstract:      Employing more than 4000 workers, the Swiss watch industry is the third most important exporting sector in the country. With another record year in 2006, exportations have increased 13% in comparison to the previous year. SMEs compose the majority of companies active in this sector. For these firms, Internet represents a new channel and business opportunities to reach foreign markets and make international sales. Indeed, the web has become a tool frequently used for international marketing, allowing SMEs to communicate with partners at a low cost, reach new markets or get closer to their clients. The object of this article is to study the use of e-business technologies (Internet/Intranet/Extranet) by SME’s exporting watch industry. Through seven case studies, we will analyze and situate functions and adoption level related to ecommerce applications.
